A White Breasted Nuthatch that has been visiting thefeeders on my deck.
I think he is beautiful!
Doesn't it look like he is staring right at me?
And now, posing for his "from behind" shot :)I just started seeing this bird this year.
I saw one in the summer at Bissett Park but had never
seen them at my home.
Remeber to click on the pic to enlarge...it does make a difference.
Also - these were shot thru the glass of the door to the deck
so they may be a bit distorted.

These are nice photos of the White-breasted Nuthatch. They are nice birds as you said. They are here all summer and they are still here this winter. They come and eat either sunflower chips and pieces (no hulls) or they settle on the suet cakes and pick out seeds there.
The smaller ones are the red-breasted and while they look the same they are about twice as small as your white ones. There are here all the time too.
I shoot many of my photos, including the hawk you just saw, through my office windows which are thermal pane glass or two layers. So it might make some difference but not much.
Thanks too for your visit.
These are both nice looking pictures.
I don`t know much about birds. But I can see that this one is beautiful.
Yes you are right. It is reflections of a sky in my picture. Thanks for visiting me.:-)
Nice shots! I'm glad you identified this bird because I took a picture of one a couple days ago and had no idea what it was.
What a pretty bird, i take a lot of shots from the window as well.
Great photo.
Nice shot of a beautiful bird.
What a beautiful bird! Excellent pictures you captured here. This bird looks so good, so 'chipper' that it made me feel good just to open this page and see it.
Thanks!
Wayne
So that's a nuthatch. I never knew.

It must be really difficult to capture those shots.
Well done!

Quite amazing shots here.
You are doing well with your bird photos. I have a hard time catching a photo of these on our feeder because they never seem to stop moving!
Wow! Keep shooting your birds. You are a natural for it and they are amazing photos. I love when the birds get all twisted and contorted just to provide you with the perfect kodak moment so you can make your readers happy.
He sure is a beauty and how lucky you are to have him in your yard. He does look like he is posing for you. Great photos.
Yep, he's staring right at you. He wants to make sure you get the perfect pic and you did! That's a beauty. Great pictures!
That really is lovely bird and wonderful photos you captured. I have never had an opportunity to take a close photo of any other bird except pigeons. :-)
Nice photos of the Nuthatch, looks friendly too.
A beautiful little bird that you captured so well. I don't think we have those around here.
Maybe he is making a posing for you. Nice pictures, you caught the beauty of this cute bird.
Yes, nice birds. We have them at our feeder, too.
Very nice picture. I used to watch these as a kid on my Mom's feeder and suet logs. Between them and the Chickadees in Northern Iowa I could be entertained for some time during the winter months.
Thanks for the memories.
By the way Springfield escaped most of the ice and we have had no power outages. Thanks for asking.

Birdwalking A really nice capture. Your so lucky to have him visit.
Kerri: Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your photo of the nuthatch is quite sharp, I was very surprised to hear it was taken from behind glass. Obviously your windows/doors are much cleaner than mine. While nuthatches visit my feeder often, I think they are of the red breasted variety. I will have to be more observant. I'll be back soon, perhaps we can visit over a cup of coffee....
How pretty! I've never seen one like this, but we do have nuthatches. Love the photos.

Quite clear for thru glass shooting. I have seen a few of these white brested nuthatches around here, but they are a wary bird.
Fun little poser, sorta' like Bird Voque. ;) There's something relaxing abot watching, photoing, and viewing bird photos. Thanks!
Great pictures of the white-breasted Nuthatch. They like sunflower seeds and pick at suet cakes as well.
We have the birds in our backyard
and I love to watch them hiding seeds in the trees.
But oldmanlincoln comment says it all, just enjoy..
cheers from Canada

You have some very pretty birds visiting you. I'm still amazed at how well you're able to capture them!
