Snow falling soundlessly in the middle of the night will always fill my heart with sweet clarity― Novala Takemoto
EVERYTHING looks different with SNOW!

Well, I know now. I know a little more how much a simple thing like a snowfall can mean to a person
~ Sylvia Plath
Wow, Kerri, it sounds as though you finally got what we got. Glad you have snow, but that's cold!
ReplyDeleteYou know I love leaf shots, and these are so lovely, with the shallow DoF.
I'm posting some shots of Michigan in snow from last March at my photoblog: http://flying.my-expressions.com
The first photo is magnificent!! Looks very cold in your part of the world.
ReplyDeleteSnow is beautiful but such a mushy mess when it melts. But we need the water any way we can get it since we had such a severe drought this past year. Your snow pictures are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh, you saw the shots at Flying. :)
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful and sooo sharp. Magic.
ReplyDeleteOur first snow arrived a few hours ahead of you but left us with only 2 inches - which, by the way, melted in a few hours. But we were happy with the moisture!
ReplyDeleteSnow is so beautiful. Your photos show how cold it is there. Stay warm!
It looks awesome.... great shots of the wintery season as well. I'm looking forward to getting rid of winter and here you are just starting it.
ReplyDeleteKeep warm and drive safe!
Y'all got a little more than we did. I like the photo of the road going through the woods. Really looks cold!
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for our first snow Kerri, I think it will be March/April now before ours.. it's happened like that before.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I was going to put this on my first snow post... but you can have it.
First Snow
By Mary Louise Allen
Snow makes whiteness where it falls,
The bushes look like popcorn balls.
The places where I always play,
Look like somewhere else today.
:O)
I think young Mary Allen as it spot on with this... I like the snow as my garden looks just as tidy as every one elses. ;o)
The leaf photos are very good! Can't say the snow photos move me to want to be in it, although your temperatures aren't frigid, are they?
ReplyDeleteSnow is magical!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty there! We had just enough snow to make a mess.
ReplyDeletethat sounds chilly! But i love the snow. Just wet here!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! My favorites are the 1st and 2nd photos. :)
ReplyDeleteYou must be the master of leaf shots - do you give any courses ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for a nice comment!
WOW Kerri great pictures
ReplyDeleteGreat captures of snow also brill shots of leaves.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking out of the window as I write thgis, and it's Snowing! Just little tiny flakes but bigger ones are predicted... and it's really cold too. A good day for hibernation with a good book.
ReplyDeleteWhen you talk of 11 degrees I take it it is Farenheit? Brrrrrrrrr... nice shots.
ReplyDelete11 - that is cold!! Snow always looks so pretty, but I'm ready for spring. :-)
ReplyDeletefun snow shots! I loved the leaves, very cool, love the gentle tonality of them. It's COLD here too, I'm chilled from an earlier walk.
ReplyDeleteI especially like: EVERYTHING looks different with SNOW!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your images of the snow fall you got. I like your leaf images - my kind of stuff as you know.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous, Kerri. I'm glad you got some snow. I hope yours stays to be an inspiration and source of light. We get snow and it's gone before it can sit on the ground for five minutes, it seems.
ReplyDeleteBRRRRRR indeed. That's cold! The pictures are wonderful! I put up a picture of our first snow, if you want to call it that! You know, there's not much snow in Texas.
ReplyDeleteI like those winter captures. All are great, but the two leaf shots are my favorites.
ReplyDelete... these are beautiful photos ... and lovely landscape ... brrrr ... I'm gonna take a hot cup of tea ...
ReplyDeleteWell, if you are going to post about it being 11F at your place, I can no longer whine about it being 46F at my place. Or can I...
ReplyDeleteNeat shots of the snow. Nice to see, coming from Florida where 'we ain't going to see no snow'! :)
It looks so pretty. we've had very little snow this year. I'm not complaining too much though.
ReplyDeleteJiminny...that IS cold! I guess Floyd's even colder. Your pictures are beautiful to look at, but I'm glad I'm not in the middle of it. Nice to have you to post them for me to enjoy from afar.
ReplyDeleteI like your snow photos as well as those with leaves. Our snow has all gone and it is quite warm for this season of the year. It is not good at all but the weather forecast says it will be more snow in the beginning of February. I am looking forward to it because it is normal for us over here to have snowy winter. Then we can hope to have nice spring
ReplyDeletebeautiful, Kerri.....i am hoping I'll get to see some snow before it's time to say b-byes to our North east stay..........stay warm and snug......:)
ReplyDeleteOh I love your snow shots!! They are sooo nice... you are right everything just looks nicer in the fresh snow!!! :) :)
ReplyDeleteNice photos, we see always less snow here :(
ReplyDeleteIn the bleak cold winter.
ReplyDeleteYou capture the feel with your photograph.
It was that cold here in Alabama too... but no snow. :(
ReplyDeleteReally nice season photos :))j
ReplyDeleteI want snow!!!!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat first leaf looks almost like a cocoon to me - it's neat how it curled up! I love the first snow of winter - it's so magical!
