There is a wonderful simplicity in leaves, which disguises the painfully ornate complexity of their reality. Just wonderful. I really don't think a person can go wrong with a picture of leaves. (Yes, I have taken my fair share, and will continue to do so!)

It's amazing how the beech leaves seem to hang in through the winter where other leaves dry up and fall to the ground. But as soon as the spring comes the rain and wind will loosen them and we'll have new baby green leaves to photograph.

Those are really hanging on. I imagine they won't let go until the new leaves push their way onto the branch.
