Spring Butterfly at the Cascades
(Cabbage White perhaps?)
If you've ever been on a "butterfly hunt" as I call it.....you knowthat once you get up to these little guys....they usually fly away... and leave you without a shot. Well....this one hung around a little while.

Lovely images. At least some things know it's spring! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I am surprised to see them this early in the year!
ReplyDeleteThe first one looks like a moth to me. Nice photos.

Yes, butterflies...all flying bugs for that matter, are tough subjects! All the more rewarding when you get one...and you did! Thanks for the link re: moths vs butterflies. I've bookmarked it. I once saw what I thought was a hummer that turned out to be a moth...it looked SO much like one. The name of it escapes me at the moment.

ReplyDeleteI can't say I have seen any butterflies yet but I did see coltsfoot blooming for a first this weekend. Too bad it was in a place here I didn't have room to pull off the road.
These butterflies must have wintered over, they look a little ragged from the wear.
Kerri, you charm me with your kindness. I'm only so and so when it comes to photography but I do have fun with it. You're much much better.
