Hi Kerri... ha! I found another Bench poem for you..
THE OLD MAN ON THE BENCH
From tattered pants pocket he opens a paper carefully unfolding it from a quarter, to a half, to a whole. Then eases his slender frame upon a college bench warming himself within the cuts of embedded initials Bifocals rest unevenly below his nose cartilage as he reads the smudged print He bows as if dozing then speaks through me to my blanket and books, "she had hair of copper that flowed in the wind. A crinkled frown would form on her forehead when the words weren't quite to her liking For hours she sat on her blanket composing and decomposing as silver rings of nicotine formed curls of silky halos around her head" He quickly silenced clutching the paper as a warm gust grasp for it then looked upward to a cumulus cloud and smiled, as if he knew of life's continuity with heaven
I had to come see your blog, and I'm glad that I did. I saw your comment over at Moi's blog, about how this was the first winter you've truly enjoyed. That's a thought I've had repeatedly through this season, so I had to click on your link and I'm so glad I did.
There's a familiarity to your photos. You tend to capture the same kind of images that I like to snap... birds, plant life, and even the occasional bench (albeit mine are snow-covered).
I'm glad I scrolled through several pages of your blog. You're now on my must visit list. :)
yeh Kerri, This is a wonderfull bench indeed, I have a lot of benches in my photo-archive, I should post them all together. that is maybe an idea, Have a good day!
OH! I love that last bench too with the background of trees -- almost looks like frost on the window instead of trees. I have been collecting photos of benches too. Figured one day you or someone would start a meme about benches. I will s tart focusing on the background now as you did since I love that idea. . . I had been getting mostly benches alone with the exception of snowy benches! lol
i also love benches, i think it is something to do with the way they seem to invite you to chill out for a while! That bottom pic is spectacular, just love the atmosphere!

I love your composition. All of the elements play a part in making this an intriguing photo. You got a good one here!
I love benches too. The bottom photo is really outstanding. Would make a nice enlargement.
in the second photo, it almost looks like a painted canvas behind the bench. and the bench looks lonely in the first one. nice shots....
Beautiful photos and benches for your wordless wednesday.
I love the trees in the background!

Yes, I know how you love those benches and these are terrific pictures. I like benches too.
Benches are in my top 10 favorite subjects. Nice ones here.
I like both shots.
Pretty soon our Canadian benches will be sittable again, once the snow finally melts!
I absolutely love the second one! The blurriness gives it a misty look.

Greeting from ABC's 'J' JoAnn :)

I love these...especially the second. Remarkable...outstanding!
These are wonderful shots. The second one makes me think of Pi!
The perspective of the second one makes the bench look like an arch that you would walk under when you got to the top of the hill.
Your second photo is absolutely gorgeous! The trees look amazing and the whole shot put together feels very magical. Great work!
Good photographs, Kerri! I agree with your thoughts about the background on the bottom one. I like it a lot!
Love the second photo ...
Kerry, I like benches, too. They can tell a story... We all need benches.
Love your bench shots, especially the second one with the trees in the background...outstanding!
It's true, Kerri, that the bottom photo is unusual and truly a marvel.

Beautiful, amazing how many different benches there are. I like the second one
