An Amazing Find

Hubby spotted this Great Blue Heron as we
drove by the pond at the Izaak Walton Park.

He was spooked before I could get very close...

Wow, what a wing span!
I have never seen one of these in the wild before.
I apologize for the quality of the shots....I really need a longer lens.

  3. Kerri,

It's my favorite bird. The GBH has devoured a pondful of fish at my homes in MD and DE. But I still marvel at it's beauty. You captured that bird beautifully. Gosh I love your photos!

  7. Beautiful shots, Kerri. They are quite the elusive bird. We have one that visits our local park pond most late afternoons. I've managed about 3 semi-decent shots out of hundreds of attempts. I've never managed to get one of him in flight, so I'm quite impressed with your shots. Great job!

I want to let you know that I borrowed from your comment on my Zinnia photo and added kaleidoscope to the title. I hope that is ok with you. Thank you!
Also, thank you so much for listing my photoblog on your photoblog site. Very kind of you.
