Female Cardinal

This little lady came for a visit

These were taken through the sliding glass door - so there is a bit of distortion.

You're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry, don't worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.

I do love the female of the species. Your photos are splendid, and I'm loving the macro shots with your new lens.

Great, again. Love the cardinal shots.
I need a lesson on posting large photos, is there a secret?

I really enjoy the female Cardinals. They are so hard to spot, nearly camouflaged by the branches. Sometimes in winter, we often see both male and female on our leafless forsythia, and they are beautiful. Especially if snow is on the ground. Happy New Year!

Great shot Kerri...was this with your new lens too? I was wondering since you mentioned it takes normal shots too.

Look great to me! I take almost all my photos through doors. Female cardinals are really lovely birds with their touch of red on that lovely grey.

Actually i like the bit of distortion. It makes the shot look like a watercolor or a pastel drawing.
I would love to see cardinals around here.
