Ruby Tuesday - Female Cardinal

This little lady came for a visit on December 1st.

These were taken through the sliding glass door - so pardon the distortion.
I find that the birds will fly away if I open the door.

Everyday seems to be a Macro Day for me lately :)

Sunday

Random Leaf Shot

I have always loved getting leaf shots....but now with my new lens
I REALLY LOVE getting leaf shots.
I read in a photo magazine that if you wanted to get a good macro shot
of a leaf you needed to make sure it was cleaned really well.
This one wasn't! You can see the specs of dirt on the leaf...but
I think it adds character :)
My father came home from the hospital today! Yippee!
I am SOOOOOO THANKFUL!
Hope Everyone had a Wonderful Sunday!!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone!
I have been a bit scarce in blogland. I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with
my father who was hospitalized on Tuesday night.
He is doing much better now and it's possible he will be released tomorrow.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and I hope to be
back to normal blogging in a few days.

Get Carried Away

People who never get carried away should be.

Oh to have the energy and enthusiasm of a Tufted Titmouse!
They are one of the sweetest little birds around!

Bare Trees

When one sees the tree in leaf, one thinks the beauty of the tree is in it's leaves, and then one sees the bare tree.

On The Farm

Give fools their gold, and knaves their power; let fortune's bubbles rise and fall; who sows a field, or trains a flower, or plants a tree, is more than all.
~  John Greenleaf Whittier

Sit a Spell

Take rest; a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop.

As many of you know, I LOVE benches!
I do not see empty benches as lonely. I see them as
Inviting, Peaceful, Restful, Stress-less (is that a word?)
Maybe my all time favorite description for an empty bench is
Comforting!

Wednesday

To See Takes Time

Nobody sees a flower – really – it is so small it takes time – we haven't time – and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time.
~ Georgia O'Keeffe

I am very intrigued by the unique shapes that are seen in nature.
I love all of the curves and curly-qs I see around me.

Whispers of Beauty

Flowers whisper "Beauty!" to the world, even as they fade, wilt, fall.
