Life is for LIVING

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature
is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden
over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are
blooming outside our windows today.

Exquisite Handiwork of Nature
Some of nature's most exquisite handiwork is on a miniature scale, as anyone knows who has applied a magnifying glass to a snowflake.

Bird Feeder Wreath
If you build it...they will come:
I was inspired by Appalachian Lady:
to make a bird feeder wreath.
I used two grapevine wreaths.
I rolled pine cones in peanut butter and then in bird seed
I rolled pine cones in peanut butter and then in bird seed
and also added some millet.
Stuffed some peanuts in.....
I have one hanging on each side of my deck.
I'm normally not very crafty...and they aren't the best looking....
but they do the job!

Frosty Blade of Grass
Of the willow we say, "How slender!"
And yet to the soft grass clothing the earth
How slight is the praise we render.

The Night Sky
Night, the beloved. Night, when words fade and things come alive.
When the destructive analysis of day is done, and all that is truly important
becomes whole and sound again.
When man reassembles his fragmentary self and grows with the calm of a tree.

Camera Critters - A Bluebird for 2009
I've been away for the past few days staying with my parents.
My Dad is doing better but still not 100%. Thanks everyone for
all of the thoughts and prayers :)
This was taken back in October on a beautiful blue sky day.
Bluebirds are one of my favorites...but of course, aren't they all?
