Bringing Color

Blue wings on a branch
Drives the gray away
Bringing color to my world

Each time I go out to shoot I tell myself I'll take pics of something else.
Then these beautiful creatures show up and I get so caught up in
trying to capture the "perfect" shot that thoughts of anything else just
fly right out of my head.

This is a far from perfect shot. I was very far away so I had to crop it a lot
so it has that grainy look you get from close cropping.
This was my first bluebird shot of 2010. If you look closely - you can
see that this bluebird has been banded. I don't have bluebirds in my yard - so they
are an extra special treat when I see them.

  2. Kerri,

Beautiful photo and I love the post. Birds are to you what flowers are to me...I try and try to expand...but always end up with tons of flowers. Your bird pics are fabulous...each and every one.

  26. Oh, this is sooo beautiful Kerri! I don't have much luck with bird pics; it's always flowers or landscapes for me. So I am always delighted to see your beautiful images!

  27. Wouldn't you love to know more about that little bluebird? Like where it was banded and how old it is? I sure wish we had more Bluebirds in our yard but I seldom see them, and when I do they aren't nearly this colorful.

    Nice capture Kerri!

  29. I love your bird pics. I'll take grainy over "interpreted" pictures that have had a colorized makeover. I like to see what's real. Personal preference.

  30. Kerrie, I will never tire of your bird pictures, but may just run out of superlatives to describe them.
The vibrant colours of this blurbird are really lovely- all the more so because we don't have them here.
