Choices

On a daily basis, I would assume that there are hundreds of choices that we make.
What to wear, what to read, what to eat etc.
Included in those are our "attitude" choices.
In the past I allowed certain situations that were beyond my control dictate how I looked at other things in my life.
I CHOOSE not to do that anymore
I CHOOSE to be Optimistic
I CHOOSE to be Happy
I CHOOSE to be Caring.
Better attitude choices  - that's what I'm striving for!

  5. And you are correct, it is bitter cold here. Although right now at least it's above zero which is a heat wave compared to the temps over the weekend!

  7. Kerri, this is a lovely warm reminder that this too shall pass. I look forward to spring. But life has its seasons, as does the months of the year. One season prepares us for another. We can't be blooming all the time. We'd miss our time of rest. If only we could learn to be content in all things. :)

Good choices for 2010. We can't always choose the circumstance or the season, but we can choose our attitude. This is true! I too choose a better attitude.

Thanks for sharing both - the reminder of spring and the transformed butterfly - and your quest of a transfomed attitude for 2010.

    May we all be successful!

  11. I try so hard to live by that Kerri.... I can not control what life throws at me, but I CAN control how I respond to it and how I let it affect my life. Bravo to you for setting that as a goal. It really DOES make a difference. :c) Love the splash of summer. Makes me warmer just looking at it, and it's a chilly 16 degrees here in Georgia!

  19. What an enjoyable post. I feel the same way. Not enough emphasis on choice these days. It's something I'm trying to instill into my daughter as well.
And something I still struggle to understand.

  20. Regarding "God"-
There is a little story I was once told by my pastor.

There once was a lady who prayed every day, every day of her life that God would grant her lottery winnings.
"How much better it all would be," She'd muse, "Lord, if I only had the winnings to make it all happen. I'd start a soup kitchen and feed the poor. I would house animals for whom no one was caring for. If only you'd grant me the funds."
Day after day after day the lady would detail her use for dollars to God.

Finally after years of this same prayer, God appeared to the woman and said,
"Oh for GOODNESS SAKE! Buy a ticket!"

The most powerful of Gods will do nothing to assist you if you do nothing to assist yourself!
