So that's what woodpeckers look like. We don't have them in Australia, that I know of. Very cute and I imagine a bit noisy too, if he's pecking next to your bedroom window.
How cool! I shot my first Red-bellied Woodpecker last Saturday. He had a pig nut, (small hickory nut) in his beak. He wedged it in a knot hole and starged to peck on it.
A Red-bellied woodpecker that allowed me a little glimpse into his world.
