Each day as a set out on my walks I ask myself "what amazing thing will I find today?" It may be at the beginning of each walk, in the middle or at the end, but I do find something amazing each time. On this day it was this Eastern Towhee. I heard him WAY before I saw him and slowly approached. He sat there and "called" for several minutes ~ I think there might have been a Mrs. Towhee near by. Sometimes all we have to do is slow down or stop .... and listen to the world around us ~ Amazing things WILL happen. Saturday

Kerri, your Towhee is gorgeous! What capture and a beautiful sighting.
Beautiful bird!
A beautiful little bird and a beautiful photo. Lovely lighting!
You are so successful at capturing birds, Kerri. You must be very patient!
That's so true. It works for me too.. far more often than not. Wonderful photo, Kerri. :)

Really great!
I hope he found his lady.
Some birds get their names for the song they sing. What does the towhee say? There's a type in my yard right now that literally says "tweet."
We have a Huckleberry Trail here in the New River Vally of Virginia.
Very nice photo of the Towhee..cant wait to get back east to see them again.
Super capture.
What a lesson.
Yes, slow down and enjoy each day as it is- not as we sould wish it to be.
And forget about tomorrow.
I know that you mean. I feel that way every morning on my walk. :-)
Thanks for the advice of the peanuts. I'll try it.

The color of green is so fresh...and I have been so enjoying the call of baby birds in the morning. Very sweet and uplifting!
Oh, he's so beautiful Kerri!
Great capture Kerri
These are beautiful birds! I've only seen and photographed one, but the photos didn't turn out, because it was really dark in the woods where I was.
