A cardinal and a goldfinch ~ hanging out together on my deck. You can see part of my "feeder wreath" on the right. It is a grapevine wreath that I sprinkle seeds in and use as a bird feeder. You can see more of the thoughts and inspiration behind that wreath HERE. The images of the two birds hanging out in the same area bring to mind that phrase "why can't we all just get along".
That is what I hope for daily.
That we can all show each other
LOVE and UNDERSTANDING
but most of all ~ that we show each other KINDNESS.

Two of my favorite birds in the same photo! WooHoo They are both so beautiful. The Cardinal was my grandma's favorite bird (she raised me, so I consider her my mom). Now, whenever I see a Cardinal, I feel content knowing that Grandma is watching over me.

ReplyDeleteI say they same thing to my birdies...they get so nasty and chase the others away.. I pray for my community of birds...seriously! I say things like "you know..The same God that made you , also made me...and I know he prefers that you all share like kind neighbors do.. So be kind to each other - allow for differences....Don't you know that He careth for you too - He supplies all your needs - don't you know that I have more bags of seed in my storehouse... BE KIND! This is community. My garden is a git from God aqnd to God....Lets keep it a gift!!!!"

Beautiful feathery parade of colors! Great composition, too. It feels like people forget kindness when they have the option of taking the dramatic path--"me against the world"--but we are all so much alike, so closely linked, being unkind to someone is like kicking your own behind!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours on these 2 Kerri. We do get lots of goldfinches here but a cardinal is quite rare (pity).
ReplyDeleteGood questions you raise - seems so simple doesn't it. Don't forget that one day the lion will sleep with the lamb!
