Well done Kerri this really is a fantastic photograph.... as good as any I've seen in the National Geographic magazines... Have you not thought about puting an article together and submitting it to such publications.... I'm sure theres a fair chance your work would be excepted.
I've seen that same skipper but don't know the name. The way to remember the two blue dragonflies is that the Blue Dasher has a black tip on it's tail and the Eastern Pondhawk has little white tips sticking out. I have mixed those two up a lot! I think just having great photos of them is enough, whether we ID them or not :-)

Kerri,
You found a male Zabulon Skipper and your dragonfly is a male Eastern Ponkhawk. Very nice and sharp images.

Glad you found a dragon. I haven't seen the Blue Dashers yet. It shouldn't be long now.
Gorgeous images - especially the dragonfly. I love the Dutch word for dragonfly; it's libelle. Happy Macro Monday to you!
Lovely as always. Saw some dragons myself yesterday, but not any in light/situation suitable for a photograph.
Very neat, Kerri. I haven't seen any dragonflies or skippers yet this year...but it shouldn't be too much longer now that you are finding them!
Beautiful capture of the dragonfly - the blurred background is just lovely;.
Love these! So many types of dragonflies out there.

Wonderful images, Kerri. Capturing a clear shot of these insects is such a challenge with all that flitting about. Great job!
Your blog commenters know so much more than me about IDing these little creatures, so all that is left for me to say is BEAUTIFUL!
