These caterpillars remind me of Fall with their orange and black colors. Almost like a Halloween caterpillar :)
I think this is a Tussock Moth Caterpillar

He's so cool! It's even 55 here this morning. So looking forward to cooler days.
ReplyDeleteYes, yesterday and today both. I think it's going to turn hot again later in the week, but those days are getting fewer now. I suspect my hot days are over for this year since I'll be in the Rockies for ten days. I suspect after I get back, SW Virginia will be fully engaged in fall.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. I think he's a milkweed tussock caterpillar. I've been seeing them on milkweed lately.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are perfect for Halloween. Very impressive catepillar!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit cool like that here, too ... great photo of that little guy.
ReplyDeleteLovely Photo.
ReplyDeleteHope your day is great.
Blessings,Ruth
I'm a bit sad that summer has gone so quickly. It's definitely been one interesting year for weather - though I do look forward to the fall colors - like in this purty catepillar!
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful photo! It certainly does feel like fall in the Chicago area after a VERY hot, steamy summer. Yes, very autumn like colors on the Milkweed Tussock Caterpillar you so beautifully photographed. Wishing you a delightful holiday weekend.
ReplyDeleteWere these caterpillars kibitzing? I hope that dark one is not forecasting a hard winter ahead!
ReplyDeleteGreat capture. It's cool here too. It was great for walking this morning. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh..this little guy is so wonderful. Love the fuzzy wuzzy.
ReplyDeleteYou take the most exquisite pictures, Kerri!

ReplyDeleteYes, he is like a Halloween caterpillar, but soon he'll be an autumnal butterfly.
ReplyDeleteIt's starting to turn cold here too, especially after sunset. I'm trying to hold out on putting on the heating till end of september!
Great one!
