To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people, and the affection of children. To earn the appreciation of honest critics, and endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know that even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded.
And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair ― Kahlil Gibran This male cardinal reminded me of the pic of the woman over the grate in the sidewalk that gets her dress blown up....here his feathers are getting "blown up".
Live your life each day as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance toward the summit keeps the goal in mind, but many beautiful scenes are to be observed from each new vantage point. Climb slowly, steadily, enjoying each passing moment; and the view from the summit will serve as a fitting climax for the journey.

I hope you all are enjoying the climb to the mountain :) I know I am!
One of the words that has been on my heart for a LONG LONG time is KINDNESS.
Kindness is something you can show a stranger as well as a close friend. Sometimes it's a smile when you pass along the street, holding the door for someone, allowing a car to merge in front of you.
Sometimes it's holding your tongue when that car cuts in front of you. Kindness is tolerating and accepting a different point of view - even though you don't agree with it. Sometimes it's just lending a helping hand.
Can you imagine the world if everyone was Kind to one another? Oh, what a wonderful world it would be :) Hubby feeding a White Breasted Nuthatch.
On a daily basis, I would assume that there are hundreds of choices that we make. What to wear, what to read, what to eat etc. Included in those are our "attitude" choices. In the past I allowed certain situations that were beyond my control dictate how I looked at other things in my life. I CHOOSE not to do that anymore I CHOOSE to be Optimistic I CHOOSE to be Happy I CHOOSE to be Caring. Better attitude choices - that's what I'm striving for!
