I am calling this a wasp - but the truth is - I really don't know what this is. ID Help is appreciated.

I don't know what it is either. My guess is that it's in the bee/wasp/pollen gatherers category though! LOL And, whatever it is, you sure got a beautiful shot of it!!

At first I thought it looked like some kind of fly until I noticed the stinger. No clue what it is though. Hope someone out there in Bloggyland has the answer for you.

I didn't know wasps had this beautiful coloring, midnight sky wings, and velvet legs. I love that one of it's legs is hold on to the stem.
