My First Mink
I'm not a doctor and I don't know the technical terminology, but I do know that sunshine activates our happiness glands.
~Jessi Lane Adams
I know that sunshine activates my happiness glands! One sunny day was spent walking around one of my favorite places, Bisset Park in Radford, VA. That's where I saw my first MINK! At first I thought it was a river otter but when I researched it further I realized it was a Mink

The Investigation of Nature
The investigation of nature is an infinite pasture-ground where all may graze, and where the more bite, the longer the grass grows, the sweeter is its flavor, and the more it nourishes. ~Aldous HuxleyTo see more critters snapped with the camera ~ Visit Camera Critters HERE

Bird and Blossoms
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.

Exquisite Moments

Feathers of the Sun
A Yellow-rumped warbler seen during visit to Ocean City, MD at the end of December ~ The yellow feathers remind me of a little spot of Sunshine :)May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day.
May songbirds serenade you every step along the way.
May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that's always blue.
And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.

It's a Bird, It's a Plane .......
.... It's Super Chickadee! Actually all of the birds are Super to me :) My quote today that has absolutely nothing to do with the picture .... except that .... watching the birds gives me joy.We should all do what, in the long run, gives us joy, even if it is only picking grapes or sorting the laundry.

I hope you are able to do today what gives you joy!

The Best Things in Life Are ...
The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.

Just Wingin' it
This image reminded me of how we all want to be chosen for something .... like he is raising his wing and saying -"oh, pick me - pick me".
And the quote I have for today has really NOTHING to do with the image .... but I like it.
You've got a lot of choices. If getting out of bed in the morning is a chore and you're not smiling on a regular basis, try another choice.

I Confess.....
..... before the macro lens I never realized how colorful these guys can be. And I have learned that not all of them are colorful. But this one sure was. Every day I am amazed at what beauty surrounds us - if we only take the time to look.I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in. ~George Washington Carver

Wings and Berries
This little chickadee followed me along a trail I walked. I think he was looking for a handout. I have had them feed from my hand but didn't have anything on that day. Did you ever see an unhappy horse? Did you ever see a bird that had the blues? One reason why birds and horses are not unhappy is because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses.

Morning at Blackwater
On our way back from visiting family in Ocean City, Maryland, we stopped by Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. We didn't have much time to spend but I LOVED the area.May your joys be as bright as the morning,
your years of happiness
as numerous as the stars in the heavens,
and your troubles but shadows
that fade in the sunlight of love.

Ready for Take-Off
Another fresh new year is here . . .
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!
This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!
I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!
This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!

To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!
