On Royal Wings - Monarch Butterfly

We're all travelers in this world. From the sweet grass to the packing house. Birth 'til death. We travel between the eternities.

Hi Kerri, What an interesting quote and I love the Monarchs! We are (I think) out of the Monarch range here but I grew up down in a part of the country where they fly through on their migrations. Thank you for sharing your pictures of them. Have a great day and thank you so much for your kind comments on John's Island! John

Beautiful photo!
I just learned that monarchs (and other butterflies) are susceptible to mosquito spraying. Maybe that's one reason why we haven't seen many this year? I did find one caterpillar and brought him inside just in case. He's growing quite nicely and hopefully will turn into a butterfly as lovely as the one you've pictured here.

Amen, Robert Duvall. I talked to him on the phone once. He has a lovely voice.

Aw, sweet butterfly.
The plant is lvely too, I thought the picture was of chives but the unopened buds don't look like chives...any name for it? Wouldn't mind growing some if it would survive here, i.e. would have to love rain!
